I had the honor to present the First Prize for Health at the Romanian Civil Society Gala Awards to a wonderful project: “Caravana cu Medici” aka the doctors’ caravan. A team of med students and junior doctors run a mobile clinic in remote villages across Romania. They are equipped with mobile medtech and all the medical records are digitised. In the last year, “Caravana cu Medici” treated 3000 patients and more than 200 young doctors volunteered for the project.
In a country with a huge gap in access to healthcare for rural areas, “Caravana cu Medici” is doing what public authorities should do but failed to. Congrats to the whole team. You rock.
